Dr Clare Looker is set to succeed Brett Sutton as Victoria’s Chief Health Officer.

She will begin the position on Saturday, July 29 after Mr Sutton formally stepped down the previous day after four years in the position.

Victoria’s Health Department says Dr Looker has considerable experience as a public health physician, including serving as deputy CHO during the state’s COVID response. Dr Looker has previously worked in clinical medicine and epidemiology before she joined the Health Department in 2016.
