Scots bride marries husband 25 years after first meeting and insists 'it's never too late'
A Scots woman who married her husband 25 years after they first met hopes their reunion proves to people "it's not too late for love"
"I don’t know what made me look him up on Facebook, to be honest. I messaged him and said 'hello, I'm not sure if you'll remember me' and he replied, 'of all the people I could forget you’re not one of them' - and I wasn’t sure if that was a compliment or not!" "He was just always really decent guy, but I thought 'no, this is ridiculous, don’t think like that'."
Theresa said that starting off their relationship on such a romantic note helped them go forward with the idea of taking chances together. Now, Theresa is urging others to take the same chances as she urged people not to let age get in the way of love. "Because I’d known him before, I knew he was a really solid, decent person. Had I never known him, I’d have thought it was too good to be true. I think this is the right time for us, it wouldn’t have worked before. If I’d met five years before, it wouldn’t have been the right time."
"We were so happy, I’d never been so shocked. When he got down on one knee, I actually thought he’d dropped something, and then I just started crying. If I'd thought beforehand if I wanted him to, I’d say we were fine, but as soon as he did I knew it was right.
