I've written a lot about Bridget Jones over the years, mainly about what a dreadful and misogynistic role model she was to single women. By the time Bridget Jones ' Baby released in 2016, I had spent enough time unpicking the pervasive single-bashing, career-lampooning, fat-shaming, body-loathing 'comedy' dressed up as female empowerment. Never did I think that in 2024 I'd be reading the news that Bridge is set to make yet another comeback.
