Documents filed in the Federal Court show that those folk you call for a corporate Hail Mary do not come cheap.One company in the spotlight isto falsify tests on coal for export. The allegations centre on results allegedly being juiced up to boost the apparent quality of the coal., TerraCom went into outsourcing mode.First was signing up lawyers from Ashurst to investigate his allegations. In a letter to TerraCom, Ashurst said a partner and associate would do the main job.

Last, and not necessarily for scandals, was public relations folk from Teneo. They could help polish messages to investors and media, charging $15,000 a month plus GST to shovel corporate gaggle. If a crisis strikes, such as a takeover, then the bill kicks up to $25,000 a month. That PR bill is something shareholders in any company should remember the next time they see a corporate spokesman quoted as saying “no comment”.
