The state government to combat Queensland’s “tyranny of distance” with a package for regional doctor flights.

A $72 million aeromedical hub at Brisbane Airport and hundreds of millions of dollars more to keep doctors airborne have been promised as Queensland’s health minister fended off further accusations of a ramping crisis.

The funding announcement came as the state continued to face challenges with a stretched hospital system. D’Ath said it was not helpful the LNP were creating a “confidence issue with the public around whether you should be calling ambulances because they might not turn up”.Queensland opposition leader David Crisafulli posted on Tuesday night about hospital ramping.
