There’s no doubt Brisbane suffers obscurity problems. But when a duo of social media stars incorrectly tells millions of people that Melbourne — and not the Queensland capital — had earned hosting rights for the 2032 Olympics , it perhaps highlights the work still needing to be done by those selling Brisbane to the world.
TikTok stars’ embarrassing Brisbane Olympics misnomer. In videos posted to their combined following of four million users across platforms, Brian Conz quizzed his Makeshift Project co-host and lifelong friend Zach Misischia on the next five hosts of the Olympic Games, summer or winter. After getting through 2026 , 2028 and 2030 , the American pair got to the question of the host of the 2032 summer games. “That one’s in Australia,” Misischia said, as he contemplates the answer.
