Union health and safety representatives issued provisional improvement notices under workplace laws on Friday to allow drivers to stop their routes before the Forest Lake shops and Inala Plaza – identified as problem areas – after 6.30pm.

A second staff notice, sent on Saturday, referenced the fact that some drivers did not complete their runs in full and warned that any refusal to follow a lawful direction was a breach of their employment obligations.But the fresh union complaint, lodged with the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission on Tuesday, disputes the need for drivers to seek advice before making safety decisions under the Work Health and Safety Act.
