A Brisbane doctor has been granted bail after being charged with 162 counts of supplying dangerous drugs, such as steroids and diazepam to bikie gang members without a prescription for them to on-sell.
A Brisbane doctor accused of supplying dangerous drugs to outlaw motorcycle gangs has been granted bail in the Brisbane Magistrates Court.The 52-year-old doctor allegedly supplied drugs to about 39 bikie gang membersDr John Robert Ullman, 52, is charged with 162 counts of supplying dangerous drugs, three counts of trafficking dangerous drugs, and one count of possessing property suspected of being proceeds of an offence.
In opposing bail, police prosecutor Senior Constable Hayley Kipps told the court there was an "unacceptable risk" Dr Ullman would continue to commit further offences.Senior Constable Kipps said the offending allegedly occurred from January 2018 and continued up until yesterday. Senior Constable Kipps said the trafficking charges related to drugs including testosterone and diazepam.Queensland police seize steroids and prescription drugs as part of a trafficking investigation across Brisbane.
"It naturally has its own inherent risk of the defendant committing further offences due to those gang members being involved.The court heard police were "making enquiries" that date back to 2012 and could result in further charges being laid.
