A Brisbane Greens Councillor has called all landlords “bludgers who hoard properties” in a heated defence of a large-scale residential cooling policy.

“This idea that we would have to increase fossil fuel consumption in order to meet energy demands is just ridiculously outdated,” he told Sky News Australia host Tom Connell.
