The Heat claim back-to-back WBBL crowns with a six-wicket victory over Adelaide Strikers in the final at Brisbane's Allan Border Field.

The Heat have successfully defended their Women's Big Bash League crown with a comfortable six-wicket win over Adelaide Strikers at Allan Border Field in Brisbane.

Heat opener Beth Mooney was a stand-out with the bat in front of a sell-out crowd, making an unbeaten 56 from 45 deliveries as the Heat successfully chased down the victory target of 162 with 11 balls to spare. The Strikers, who made 7-161 from their 20 overs, gave themselves a glimmer of hope when they dismissed Jess Jonassen and Grace Harris to leave the Heat on 4-134 in their run chase.

But Mooney and Laura Harris steadied the ship to ensure the Heat added a second WBBL title to last season's success.
