Police allege a man was sitting on the second-storey balcony of a home in the Brisbane suburb of Grange when he was stabbed in the chest by a 44-year-old woman.
Police say the jogger used a ladder to rescue the man with the help of neighbours, before locating the two children in the home.
"The door was locked, I believe the children were able to assist those attending with unlocking the front door.Police said the man and woman were not known to them previously.Police said the woman was uninjured except for some smoke inhalation.
