It is "very positive" that Britain will remove itself from the "carcass that is the European Union," according to News Corp Business columnist Terry McCrann. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has vowed his new "people's parliament" will "get Brexit done", as MPs returned to the Commons for the first time since the general election.

The Conservative party secured a resounding majority in Thursday’s general election in the UK, while Labour suffered its worst result since 1935. The Brexit withdrawal agreement could be put before parliament as early as Friday. Mr McCrann told Sky News the election result should see Britain remove itself from "all that bureaucracy out of Brussels". Image: Getty
