As temperatures drop many households will consider popping the heating on, but there may be some who are holding out for longer than usual this year.
According to British Gas, holding out is fairly normal in the UK with the typical household first turning on their heating on October 24. So, if you have already used your heating this year, you are ahead of the majority of Brits, Mirror Online reports. As well as the price cap, there are worries about energy supplies reaching emergency levels, writes Hull Live. Last week National Grid warned of three-hour blackouts being implemented to protect supplies over the winter period, although they have said that this was "unlikely".
