The British Law Commission want to make misogyny a hate crime in a move which will have figures like “Julia Gillard and others swinging from the rafters” in celebration according to Sky News host Rowan Dean.

The independent body which recommends legal changes has suggested an overhaul of legislation to make gender a protected characteristic in hate crime laws in a bid to protect women. Sky News host Rita Panahi warned “it goes two ways, when you start trying to police language and attach hateful notions to everything, it can be a dangerous path to go down”.
