Scottish climber, Will Bosi, has conquered the world’s toughest boulder climb in record time after practising on a 3D-printed version of Finland's four-metre rock He is the second person to climb “Burden of Dreams” in Lappnor Taz_Ali_ reports
Will Bosi is only the second person to climb the fiendishly difficult “Burden of Dreams” in Lappnor, east of Helsinki. The first was Nalle Hukkataival, a Finnish boulderer, who in 2016 managed the feat after more than 4,000 attempts over three years., a practice that is becoming increasingly popular among elite athletes.website after his ascent in April, the 24 year-old said it was “incredibly important” to train on the 3D replica.
He said the replica was “very precise” in its recreation of the real deal, featuring holds from 3D scans made by fellow climber Aidan Roberts. The Burden of Dreams is considered the hardest boulder problem in the world and is graded V17, the most difficult bouldering surface to navigate. The route on the slab of granite consists of five moves on a 40-45 degree angle.
