Jake Odey-Jordan had his 200m race in the bag after a stunning 150m start — but the British teen took the foot of the pedal way too early in footage that has now gone viral.
Jake Odey-Jordan was running in the 200m event in the U18 European Athletics Championships in Slovakia.Pundits said they hoped the teen would learn from his mistake ahead of a long career in athletics.
With a sub-21 second time well within reach, the 16-year-old slowed to almost a jog in the final stages of race, glancing behind him but no realising how close his fellow runners were. "I am just out here, it is my first race on this meet. I just tried to get on my legs, nothing hurts me or nothing like that."
