A win for Boris Johnson in the U.K. election would put the nation on course to redefine its relationships with the European Union and others
LONDON—A victory for Boris Johnson in Thursday’s general election, forecast by an exit poll after voting closed, would signal the end of the beginning of Britain’s journey out of the European Union.
After almost four years of national melodrama over Brexit, Mr. Johnson is now likely to secure the parliamentary majority he needs for his deal with the EU, allowing the U.K. to leave the bloc on Jan. 31.
