The 66-year-old was swiftly given CPR and rushed to the nearby Skiathos Health Centre, but sadly, medics were unable to save her. According to CNN Greece, she lost consciousness in the water before being discovered by a lifeguard, with the intense heat in the area likely being the cause. Skiathos reached daytime highs of 33C yesterday, and an Excessive Heat Warning has been issued by the Hellenic National Meteorological Service due to several days of high temperatures.This is a breaking news story - more to follow.
