Bronx high school student teams up with NY Knicks to restore local basketball courts

Their next mission is to refurbish Olinville Playground at Shoelace Park in the Bronx. However, an additional $100,000 is needed to turn their plans into reality.

Through his non-profit foundation, "Courts of Dreams," Danny Cornstein, a high school junior, set out to restore basketball courts throughout the Bronx. In order to do so he needed to raise $70,000. With support from the NY Knicks and John Starks they were able to make progress.They're where people meet, grow up, make friends and form bonds.

At the forefront of this effort is Danny Cornstein, a determined high school junior who has a deep love for the game. "We had to literally refurbish everything. The ground we had to rip all the concrete out, put some new asphalt in, repaint all the lines, redo all the baskets, the next loops everything.""A lot of emails, a lot of phone calls, a lot of posting on Instagram," he said.
