San Francisco’s former deputy district attorney will take the oath of office from Mayor London Breed this afternoon to become the city’s next district attorney.

Before working in the San Francisco District Attorney's office, she spent years in private practice, both in Atlanta and in the Bay Area.

"I am humbled and honored to serve as the next District Attorney of San Francisco," Jenkins said."As a career prosecutor, I will restore accountability and consequences to the criminal justice system in San Francisco because everyone in our city deserves to feel safe. I also know that holding offenders accountable does not preclude us from moving forward with implementing progressive reforms.
