Canadian Brookfield wants to turn AGL Energy into a renewable energy powerhouse away from the ASX-boards, but it has no interest in being part of the listed group’s proposed transition fund.
AGL Energy/Accel Energy’s renewables and low carbon firming developments include batteries at Liddell and Loy Yang, wind farms and a pumped hydro project. AGL’s been sounding potential investors for the vehicle, kicking off expressions of interest in January and telling them it wanted to have preferred partners locked away by April.
