Two months after losing former President Donald Trump’s endorsement, a new poll of Alabama’s Republican Senate primary has U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks closing in on the lead.and Gray Television, has Brooks trailing frontrunner Katie Britt by two points and making up ground over the closing weeks of the campaign.

If no candidate gets more than 50% of the vote, which is not expected, the two top vote-getters will advance to the June 21 runoff. Brooks is in second place with 28.5% of the vote while Durant, Huntsville business executive and former Army POW, is third with 24.3% of the vote. Even with that deficit, though, the poll’s margin of error could potentially have Brooks and Durant swapping positions just as it could have Britt and Brooks swapping positions.Brooks has risen in the polls in recent weeks. Ahad Brooks with 22.5% support. The new poll indicates Brooks has made up six points in 10 days.
