Brother of Wests Tigers player also charged with murder
The brother of a Wests Tigers junior player has also been charged with the alleged murder of Dejan ‘Danny’ Radulovic - a day after his younger sibling was arrested.
Eti Tavui, 21, on Thursday blew kisses to his family and supporters as he appeared from jail via videolink in Liverpool Local Court. He was arrested at Liverpool Station on Wednesday and was charged with murder and failing to comply with a digital evidence access order direction.Mr Radulovic died after police were called to Donnelly Street in Balmain at 3:40pm on July 29, following reports of an assault.Paramedics treated him to the scene before taking him to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he later died, with an autopsy later revealing he had suffered gunshot wounds.
Police said they had received reports that Mr Radulovic was injured in an altercation with two men, who allegedly fled in a white jeep, which was later found burnt out at Five Dock.Masei Tavui has been a member of the Wests Tigers junior ranks for the past four years, playing for the club in junior competitions.He did not apply for bail when he appeared in court on Thursday and is due to reappear in December.
