Carlton captain Patrick Cripps has won his second AFL Brownlow Medal, polling a record 45 votes to claim the honour convincingly. The 29-year-old is the first player to win two Brownlows playing for Carlton.

He joins a select group to have two Brownlows.We had Lachie Neale pencilled in for three votes in round 20, and he delivers. But he is 10 votes behind Patrick Cripps.Surely, Patrick Cripps has this won – another best on ground, this time against North Melbourne. He has 36 votes, 11 ahead of Nick Daicos.
He joked that Dustin Martin was retired – for now – but said it was a credit to all players to have reached the AFL level, even if they had been there for only a season.
