The Browns moved their practice indoors on Wednesday. Before they did, Kevin Stefanski discussed roster decisions and more.
Nick Chubb is as sure a thing as there is in the NFL at the top of the Browns running back depth chart. Things behind him are a little murky at the moment with Jerome Ford injured. Ford won’t practice the remainder of this week, play in Kansas City and is still a question mark for Week 1 against the Bengals.
Stefanski also said he’s confident right tackle Jack Conklin will be ready by Week 1 but feels good about what the Browns have behind him. Those names include James Hudson III and rookie Dawand Jones. “We’ll kind of stick to our plan,” Stefanski said. “Texted with Coach Reid, I kind of know what they’re doing. I’ll let him share that whenever he’s sharing it, but we’ll just do what we do or what we’re planning.”Left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. has learned some lessons this camp going against Myles Garrett. He won’t face many rushers as good as Garrett once the season starts.
As for how much of a role Saturday’s preseason game will play in the final decision process, Stefanski didn’t offer many specifics.
