Already a subscriber?Former Liberal staffer Bruce Lehrmann invoiced Channel Seven, controlled by billionaire Kerry Stokes, for a “bag of cocaine” and prostitutes during a night of “trust building” designed to secure an exclusive interview, a court has heard.
Mr Auerbach was giving evidence in the Federal Court as a witness for Network Ten, which Mr Lehrmann is suing for defamation. Ten says his evidence is relevant to Mr Lehrmann’s credibility, which could affect any damages awarded in the case. Seven says Mr Auerbach’s claims are false. Mr Auerbach claimed Mr Lehrmann bought cocaine and ordered prostitutes on a night out in Sydney in early January. Mr Auerbach also claimed Seven reimbursed Mr Lehrmann for those drugs and prostitutes.– Justice Lee was due to deliver his final judgment on Thursday. It will now be delayed.evidence to demonstrate Mr Lehrmann engaged in an “extreme abuse of process” by leaking legally privileged documents to Seven, and that he is capable of lying. He has always denied the rape allegations.
One of those documents was a statement of facts prepared by the Australian Federal Police, while the other was part of a “Cellebrite report” with the contents of Ms Higgins’ phone.“I want to submit to you Mr Lehrmann did not supply the AFP statement of facts to you,” barrister Matthew Richardson, SC, acting for Mr Lehrmann, said.
