One tangy ingredient that 'lifts' the classic Christmas veg
Love them or hate them, Brussel sprouts are an iconic Christmas staple - and one cooking enthusiast has shared the tangy ingredient that "lifts" their flavour.
Many refuse to put them on their plate due to the belief that the leafy green gives off a bitter flavour and mushy texture. But before exiling them completely, Brussel sprout naysayers should know that there are simple ways to counteract this. In a video shared on TikTok, Joseph, who posts on his channel @thejosephabell, suggested coating them in a culinary "acid" before cooking - balsamic vinegar in this case, which offers a deeper flavour than white vinegar.
The social media user also suggests soaking your sprouts in some cold water prior to roasting to ensure they come out with a crispy exterior while still tender in the centre.
