The peak of the excessive heat will strike Friday through Sunday, the National Weather Service said. Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated, wear lightweight clothing, and to stay out of the sun in air-conditioned areas as much as possible.Learn more about heat dangersAn Excessive Heat Watch goes into effect in Los Angeles County in the San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys from 10 a.m. Friday to 11 p.m. Sunday.
The brutal heat will also beam down in the Santa Clarita and Antelope valleys with days of triple-digit heat. The following weather alerts apply to the area:Excessive Heat Warning from 10 a.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Mondayclick here for more information on LA County aquatic centers.A Heat Advisory was upgraded to an Excessive Heat Warning that remains in effect through 8 p.m. Tuesday.
