The 36-year-old cut a dejected figure sitting on the bench and was walking with a noticeable limp when he joined his teammates at the three-quarter-time huddle.Sydney insisted Franklin had merely suffered calf tightness but now it looks like he will not play again this year. “He’s obviously got a tight calf, it was obviously tight enough to sub him out,” Swans coach John Longmire said after the game.
“He’s disappointed ... He’s been around a long time and he knows there’s no point talking too much about it now, instead we’ll wait until we’ve all got the facts in front of us and we’ll deal with it then.”
