£15 million for new nurseries A further £15 million is set to be used to create 300 new or expanded nurseries across England. It comes as 100 schools, nurseries and colleges in England were forced to shut down days before the autumn term last year over safety concerns. Though it's a £550 million increase over the last year, progress has been slow on the project. In the next decade, the money will go towards rebuilding or refurbishing about 500 schools.
