Richard Madeley said the dogs turn at the slightest provocation and will attack, but the owners strongly disagree

The owners of an XL bully have clashed with Richard Madeley on Good Morning Britain as he called the dogs a 'ticking time bombs' and spoke of the 'terrible stories of children' who've had their faces ripped off'.

Six people have died in XL bully attacks in the UK in recent months. The Government is to ban XL bullies by the end of the year - meaning police will be able to seize them and owners will need to have them neutered. they will also need to be muzzled and owners will need insurance to pay out if there are any attacks.

Alicia said: "When we've been away we've had people come and sit the dog that obviously do not live in our household and there's never been any issues. In fact everyone's always saying how loving he is." Richard hit back saying: "Of course he's done nothing wrong at the moment, we take your word for that absolutely. He's a good dog - at the moment. But they're like ticking timebombs aren't they? And if they go, if they blow, watch out. They are so dangerous once they've lost control."
