A nine-year-old bullying victim filmed telling his mother he wanted to kill himself, has been invited to lead the Indigenous All Stars side out on Saturday night's big game against the Maori All Stars.
Quaden Bayles's mother published a distressing video of her son crying and saying he wanted to harm himself to raise awareness of the effects of bullying. The video, which has been viewed three million times, prompted the Indigenous All Stars to reach out to the boy and rally behind him. “We know you are going through a hard time now but the boys are here to support you,” Latrell Mitchell said.
