As he so often does though, Bumrah had the last laugh in this exciting battle — this time, literally. As Australia looking to push the game forward amid a Test slowly drifting towards a draw, Bumrah knocked over the prodigy opener with a well-placed delivery sneaking through Konstas’ bat and pad. With the bails flying promptly off the stumps at the Northern end of the MCG, Bumrah cheekily celebrated by lifting his arms aloft; signalling for the Indian crowd to heighten their already-loud noise, much like Konstas did in the field for Australia. Given his introverted personality on-field, it’s rare to see Bumrah animated with his celebrations. But his light-hearted dig only added to what has been an epic series of Test cricket so far. “What a showman,” former Australian spinner and Fox Cricket expert Kerry O’Keeffe said on commentary. “You don’t see a lot of theatrics from Jasprit Bumrah normally. But (when) Sam Kostas was dismissed, he thought: ‘Yep, I’m here as well, don’t worry about that.’” Australian great Mark Waugh added.
