'We've spoken about a potential ocean pool, an art gallery, upgrades to Bicentennial Square, and a new hotel in the CBD,' he said.Peter Newman says the bypass is an opportunity for Bunbury to find its identity again.Bunbury is not the first town in WA to be bypassed with construction on the Albany ring road underway. The opening of the Forrest Highway in 2009 bypassed Mandurah, cutting the commute time from Perth to Bunbury.as an attraction ahead of the completion of its own bypass next year. Curtin University professor of sustainability Peter Newman said there were pros and cons to an outer ring road.
