A Burger King worker has received more than £320,000 in donations after revealing he hadn’t missed a day of work in 27 years.
As reported by the Mirror, those who watched the video were quick to point out it was a 'cheap and sad' reward for a man who put in so much work. Social media users dubbed it 'insulting' - so Ford's daughter started a GoFundMe for her father, who she says worked at the fast food joint for so many years to put her and her siblings through college.
Ford said he'd use the funds to visit all of his grandchildren and to help pay for his retirement - and after a year, he's managed to raise a whopping $400,000. Recently Ford announced he's using the money to retire. "Then as our family grew and he remarried, he continued to work there because of the amazing health insurance that was provided through this employer because it was unionized. This got all four of his daughters through high school and college with full healthcare coverage."
