Emergency services raced to the A90 near Fraserburgh, in Aberdeenshire, after the alarm was raised at around 6.50am on Friday. The driver was rushed to hospital for treatment, however their condition is currently unknown.
An image taken from the scene showed the Stagecoach bus crashed at the side of the road. It appeared to come off the road before smashing into the tree. A yellow warning has been issued for Friday, from 3am to 3pm for almost all Scotland. The Met Office said that winds as high as 80mph were recorded across parts of northern Scotland, including Aberdeenshire, on Friday.
It had earlier warned drivers of high-sided vehicles to be careful, with high winds expected to cause travel disruption and possible damage to buildings in places.
