The warning remains current for Chapple Vale, Crowes, Gellibrand Lower, Johanna, Johanna Heights, Lavers Hill, Stalker, Wangerrip, Wattle Hill, Yuulong and Wattle Hill to the Great Ocean Walk. Locals are being urged to leave the area if it is safe to do so as firefighters battle to get the blaze under control.

Vic Traffic on Sunday morning issued a notice warning of heavy smoke along the Great Ocean Road between Lavers Hill and Princetown, urging motorists to drive to conditions and allow extra travel time. “The fire has crossed the Glenelg River and is burning in the area east of the Chetwynd River north of Chetwynd,” the alert said.
