Authorities will launch a large-scale search in bushland for an 82-year-old man who hasn't been seen by family since attending a lunch in Victoria's west on Christmas day.
Ian Whinfield left Lake Bolac about 4pm on December 25, and his family contacted police when he hadn't reached his Serpentine home the next day. His red Nissan ute has discovered on Emery Track at Glenpatrick on December 27, prompting a large-scale search in the area which was gradually wound back.The search will be ramped up in the coming days, with police and SES volunteers endeavouring to finding him.
Mr Whinfield is thought to have been wearing grey slacks, a blue shirt, blue cap and brown boots at the time of his disappearance.Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen Ian or his vehicle between 25 and 27 December to contact Avoca Police Station on 03 5465 3300.
