Senator Hanson-Young said the Greens party room had yet to decide whether its ultimate support for Labor’s climate targets bill would hinge on whether Labor backed the EPBC trigger. Labor’s legislation to enshrine net zero emissions by 2050 and reduce emissions by 43 per cent over 2005 levels by 2030, is set to pass the lower house this week because the government has the numbers.In a joint statement, eight business, investor and conservation groups have urged that Labor’s bill be passed without delay “to support investment in the transition to a low-carbon economy”.
