Miranda Moreira, founder of Bride & Wolfe in her studio with her signature circular shelving and mirrors.A spokesperson for Kmart and Target, both owned by Wesfarmers, declined to comment on the similarity of its stock to those created by Bride & Wolfe, Olli Ella and Belle & Co but said the retail giant respected the intellectual property rights of others.

Another business hit is global success story Olli Ella, founded by sisters Chloe and Olivia Brookman in 2008. "We have spent so many hundreds of hours poring over the design, tweaking it, perfecting it, years streamlining our manufacturing process and ecological footprint, making sure the quality is perfect - only to see similar versions hit the market on a mass scale.""The impact isn’t just on the designers and their businesses and the people they employ – it's on the small independent boutiques who stock their products," she said.

carawaters They could go into partnership with Kmart and Target. Sell good design to the masses

carawaters They cater for the masses, quick turnover based on price point. They’ll never copy IP items and always change something so as not to an exact copy.

carawaters No different to producing a fake Gucci bag for example to the real one

carawaters Good it should be banned, it’s stealing another persons creativity and hard work. About time this was called out. Target and Kmart also create mass waste by making these cheap and tacky fakes. Europe put a ban to this in 2016 and so should we.

carawaters Of course they are. That's their business plan. Look at all the rubbish Coles branded food now. Can't find anything decent anywhere in the cold section anymore.

carawaters It’s called competition!
