Felice, being renamed to Poppy, will open as soon as possible -- mid-March at the latest -- and will feature salads, soups, appetizers, shareable plates and entrees.
Parkison – who will spend today cooking for 20 people - knows how thankful they are.
Felice had carved out a nice culinary niche on Larchmere Boulevard on the East Side of Cleveland, a multi-level house with dining rooms. A Plain Dealer review once described the décor as “retro-rustic to hipster-artistic.” Parkison said she and Vedaa aren’t planning to overhaul it. The biggest change, she said, involves “winterizing the bar that’s outside. We can utilize the bar all year round into more of a speakeasy in the winter.”No brunch will be served; the restaurant will be closed on Sunday, though lunch hours will be offered, Parkison said.
Parkison and Vedaa make a good team. Vedaa started out in the art world before falling into restaurant gigs where she shined. Vedaa was a semifinalist for James Beard Awards in 2018, 2019 and 2022. Her creations also were featured in one of the incarnations of thein Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, which emphasizes quality local chefs. Parkison is a sommelier.

Letter: Canal extensions into Great Salt Lake, like US Magnesium’s, should be allowedUS Magnesium has requested permission to extend their canal out into the remaining water of the Great Salt Lake. I have read that their request either has been or will be denied because the authorities fear it would further deplete the lake. That’s nonsense, not a science-based decision and should be rescinded, allowing all of the several companies that “mine” the lake’s minerals canal extensions.
