Top secret cabinet documents revealing the inner-workings of John Howard’s cabinet in 2002 have been released, detailing why Australia dragged its feet on climate action and refused an apology to the stolen generations then.

The now declassified documents released by the National Archives of Australia on Sunday, detail that the cabinet chose not to sign the Kyoto protocol, after the United States refused to commit to the climate change pact.
