Unfortunately, disappearances are far from uncommon in the Siskiyou County area.
"For us not to be able to find him was definitely disappointing," Kreider said. However, she said that search and rescue teams heard"growls" and found a bear den not far from where they found Knight's bike and clothing."We weren't able to find anything else, but there is the possibility of wildlife affecting it," she continued. She emphasized that bears typically aren't aggressive and want nothing to do with humans, and that no cubs were spotted either.
Anyone with new information that could help the department locate Knight is urged to call the Siskiyou County sheriff’s public information line at 598-9375.
