Alameda County sheriff’s Deputy Devin Williams Jr. is accused of killing a married couple Wednesday morning at their home near Oakland, Calif.
is accused of shooting a 42-year-old woman and her 58-year-old husband while he was off-duty. Williams was a rookie with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office and worked in the courthouse division.
The Times reports authorities believe Williams used his service weapon in the shootings and might have tossed it from his vehicle. Authorities are searching for the weapon.. Six people, including a child, were in the home when the shooting occurred, reports say. Williams reportedly knew the victims, whose identities have not been released. No one else in the home was wounded.
Holmes was the person who spoke to Williams on the phone and convinced him to surrender, reports say.
