Walnut Creek orchestra plans 2 world premieres in 2023-24 season.
California Symphony music director Donato Cabrera will lead the orchestra in two world premieres and a Gershwin celebration as part of its 2023-24 season.Two world premieres, three commissioned works, and a centenary celebration of George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” are among the highlights of the California Symphony’s 2023-24 season.
Programs continue with “Handel — Rivers of Inspiration” , featuring Handel’s “Water Music,” Suites 1 and 2; Robert Schumann’s “Rhenish” Symphony, and “Chance of Rain” by Viet Cuong, California Symphony’s 2020-23 American Composer-in-Residence.
