Police say the Director of Public Prosecutions wants a 17-year-old boy charged with the stabbing murder of a 25-year-old man in Adelaide last month to be dealt with as an adult.

The accused murderer faced the Adelaide Youth Court today, where the police prosecutor said the Director of Public Prosecutions wanted the case moved from the youth court to the Adelaide Magistrates Court. Under the Young Offenders Act, a youth charged with a major indictable case or someone who poses a risk to community safety can be dealt with as an adult.
