Blizzard has suffered a DDoS attack, it's confirmed, which has left many users unable to play its PC games.

The Hearthstone company first acknowledged the server issue at 00:45 am PT / 8:45 am BST, when it said it was investigating an issue affecting its authentication servers, which it claimed could result in failed or slow login attempts.

45 minutes later, it provided a further update and confirmed the downtime was due to an ongoing distributed denial of service attack, which is a malicious attempt in which a perpetrator seeks to disrupt a network. “We continue to actively monitor an ongoing DDOS attack which is affecting latency/connections to our games,” Blizzard
