In a move that is unusual for classical music recitals, the audience is invited to dress up as their favourite Austen character; the venue will have its own subtle transformations, too. The author has devoted fans, known as Janiacs or Janeites – Beesley hopes they will take the opportunity to tap into the aesthetic and add to the atmosphere of the concert, similar to the way other fandoms celebrate and gather.
