The US supreme court has placed a hold on terminating an immigration policy, allowing border migrants the power to return migrants back to Mexico.
The order by Chief Justice John Roberts calls on the Biden administration to respond quickly by 5pm Tuesday, signalling that a final resolution could come soon.
An emergency appeal was filed by a group of Republican-led states prior to the Supreme Court order for local officials to sound the alarm.
