Despite the borough’s inability for its insurance to pay for the legal fees of both sides, since it lost, the borough is going to appeal the decision.
A federal judge recently found two elements of Camp Hill Borough’s sign ordinance to have violated residents’ first amendment rights.
, saying the borough’s sign ordinances prohibiting residents from placing more than two signs was unconstitutional. Camp Hill Borough Council voted on Wednesday to appeal the decision because it believes the judgment is inconsistent with case law on the First Amendment, they said in a press release. Additionally, Pearson and Machiraju are requesting the court to order Camp Hill to pay for their legal fees from Scaringi Law, $295,373.50, with $4,828.27 in costs. Scaringi Law Firm is entitled to claim the borough to pay their costs under the Civil Rights Act.
